HIGHLIGHTS: 

Interior Renovation

·Existing 6,600 sq ft barn/hay shed. Renovated 5,000 sq ft into an 8-stall stable.

·Structural columns reviewed, repaired, and replaced where necessary.

·Interior timbers – decorative and structural component of the stall corner post system

·Horizontal beams host a “hidden” light fixture for additional task lighting in stalls

·Black steel ceiling and upper wall to keep the focus on timber work

·Wash bay lined with FRP and composite plastic base trim for water resistance

·Stalls with rubber mats are easy to clean, durable, and economical.

·New window and door openings. Protective window grills – easy open for cleaning.

·Large Dutch doors allow for lots of natural light and natural ventilation.

·Exterior cladding – repaired and replaced as needed. Match existing farm buildings.

·New gable vents were added for attic ventilation.

·High-efficiency LED lighting in stable aisles, workspaces, and night checks.

·Radiant in-floor heat system throughout, and heat pump units for side rooms.

·Composting toilet – limited use anticipated. No water is required.

·Repurposed an existing building into something the client has been dreaming of, while reducing the impact on the site and reducing demo waste.

·Stalls with swing-open partitions permit multiple uses (1 extra-large or 2 standard 12 x 12 stalls) for various animal housing configurations

·Clean up material and fencing debris. Site re-grade around perimeter to redirect drainage away from building. Re-seed the adjacent paddock

·Install a hitching rail to protect the building exterior from equipment/damage and serve as a tie-back for large Dutch doors
