HIGHLIGHTS:
50’ x 80’ Shop
-
A 50’ x 80’ Shop (constructed in 2023) now stands on the site where the former dairy barn once stood
-
The shop offers storage for recreational equipment.
-
Exterior walls are made of 2x6x16 lumber, sitting on 8” foundation wall that sits 2’ above grade, which gives 18’ high ceiling in the shop
-
4/12 flat bottom trusses spaced on 4’ centers with 29 GA roof steel for the exterior roof siding
-
The shop has a generator room which provides emergency power to the farm
-
Above the generator room is mezzanine that is used for seasonal storage
-
The interior of shop is finished with 8’ high plywood on bottom of the wall with wall steel siding above and below the mezzanine is finished with tongue and groove pine
-
Mezzanine has black railings along the mezzanine level and cut offs from the former dairy barn beams for the rustic aesthetic.
-
The overhead doors are semi-transparent, allowing lots of abundant natural light to illuminate the space and minimize the need for artificial lighting. LED lights, low-flow plumbing fixtures for water conservation, energy-efficient windows and doors, R20 insulation was installed.

The front entrance is a timber frame overhang roof composed of reused old hand-cut beams salvaged from the also dairy barn. With the use of a portable TimberKing sawmill, we cut those salvaged beams to fit all our different dimensions we needed for the entrance. A chicken weathervane crowns the top of this overhang, adding a charming finishing touch.
