HIGHLIGHTS:
120’ x 140’ Shop
-
A 120’ x 140’ Pre-Eng Shop (constructed in 2022/2023) now stands on the site where a 2-storey broiler barn and drive shed once stood.
-
The shop provides storage for tractor equipment and ample space for washing, repairing and maintaining farm equipment.
-
A 20’ x 50’ x 4’ deep cistern below the floor collects rainwater from the roof, used for farm-related washing and spraying; ensuring eco[1]friendly water usage and a steady water supply for farm operations. Additionally, a hollow core floor above the cistern is designed to accommodate a 6000lb forklift, which optimizes space by combining water storage with load-bearing capabilities.
-
The wash bay room, located on the north side, is finished with white Truss-core for easy cleaning. The wash bay’s trench drain is connected to an oil interceptor ensures effective contaminant containment.
-
The shop features five 30’ wide polycarbonate overhead doors – three at the front for equipment entry and exit, along with two at the rear, allowing for a drive-through option. In-floor heat is installed along the perimeter in front of overhead doors, which prevents them from freezing shut.
-
Interior finishes in main shop area feature steel siding at the bottom of the walls, coupled with 2” thick pine panelling at the top. This combination effectively dampens echoes in such a large room and improves the overall aesthetics of the space.
-
Semi-transparent overhead doors allow natural light to illuminate the space and minimize the need for artificial lighting. LED lights, low[1]flow plumbing fixtures for water conservation, energy-efficient windows and doors, R20 insulation, were also installed.
